Welcoming Jayme Matis

We are excited to announce that Jayme Matis has joined the Omaha Zoo Foundation team as patron relations specialist.

An Omaha native, Jayme recently graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she majored in business administration and minored in animal science and math. “I knew I wanted to work with animals, but I don’t like giving shots,” she says. “I wanted to focus more on the business and administration side of things.”

Jayme has worked as a volunteer for Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium and interned at the Omaha Zoo Foundation while in college, so she’s already well-acquainted with the zoo and its mission.

“Jayme has gotten to know many of our patrons and everyone is so happy that she’s here,” says Tina Cherica, executive director of the Omaha Zoo Foundation. “She’s 100 percent committed to making sure they have the best experience possible.”

Or, as Jayme puts it, “I love being able to share all the great things the zoo is doing and help people get more involved. We’re already teaching the next generation of biologists and researchers and I want to always be sure that our patrons know how important they are to that success.”

If you need assistance with your patron membership, contact Jayme directly at 402-738-2056 or
