The mission of the Lee G. Simmons Conservation Park and Wildlife Safari is to promote live viewing, educational activities, and conservation programs to enhance public appreciation for, and actions on behalf of native wildlife and their habitats.
Owned and operated by Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium, and located roughly halfway between Omaha and Lincoln, the Lee G. Simmons Conservation Park and Wildlife Safari has been actively engaged in pursuing its mission for almost 20 years.
Over the last two decades we have stayed true to serving our guests by providing an accessible, and educational destination for people seeking outdoor experiences in nature and up-close encounters with iconic North American species. We have become a regional destination that provides recreational and educational activities in relationship to native wildlife for the general public.
Animals featured at this park include elk, white tailed deer, wolves, cranes, bison and eagles. These animals are native to Nebraska and the Great Plains, and are viewed by guests via a drive through safari experience and walking safaris. We plan to continue providing educational programming for visitors of all ages, with a particular focus on interactive experiences for children and families.
