Joel Sartore is an award-winning photographer, author, conservationist, and a speaker known for his wit and sense of humor. His goal is simple: to get the public to care and save species from extinction.
Described as funny, passionate, and stirring, Joel entertains and inspires audiences with photos, videos, and stories from his life as a National Geographic photographer. He is the founder of the Photo Ark, a 25-year documentary project to save species and habitat.
“It is folly to think that we can destroy one species and ecosystem after another and not affect humanity,” he says. “When we save species, we’re actually saving ourselves.”
If you’ve ever wondered about those wildlife photographers who risk life and limb to get the perfect shot, now’s your chance. His 25 years with National Geographic have given him the stories and scars to prove it. Come hear about Joel’s adventures, his passion for conservation, and what life is like for this 2018 National Geographic Explorer of the Year.
